Settle-Carlisle Railway
The Famous Settle-Carlisle railway runs through Dentdale; Dent station, which is 4 miles from the village, is the highest station in England. There are usually steam trains every Wednesday and Sunday during the school summer holidays, see: http://www.statesmanrail.com/

Lake District
The southern Lake District is only 30 minutes away, whilst Keswick in the Northern Lakes is about an hour away.
Beaches
The beaches of Morecambe and Grange-Over-Sands are approx. 45 minutes away.
Lakes is less than an hour. The Cross Bay Walk, a guided walk across Morecambe Bay, is run every other weekend in the summer months. Contact the Grange-Over-Sands Tourist Information Centre for details: Morecambe Cross Bay Walks
Scotland
The Scottish border and Hadrian's wall is approx. 65 minutes.
The village of Dent is just 20 minutes drive from M6 Junction 37 and within easy reach of the Lake District and Scottish border.
